Records Management provides information to University departments regarding the proper procedures for retaining and discarding University records. The program assists departments with complying with the University's Records Retention and Disposal Schedule, which is required by the Code of Maryland Regulations before a public record can be destroyed legally. The unauthorized alteration, defacement, destruction, removal, or concealment of a record is subject to the penalties set forth in Criminal Law Article, § 8-606, Annotated Code of Maryland.
