College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center Reservation Procedure

University Travel involving an overnight stay at the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center must be pre-approved via a Travel Approval Request (TAR).

Making Room Reservations Online

College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center reservations may be made online. In order to receive the University of Maryland discount rate, enter the appropriate Corporate/Promotional Code (see below) in addition to the reservation information. There may be time periods when the University of Maryland discount rate is not available.

The Departmental Travel Arranger should provide his/her email address in the Guest Information section of the reservation form (instead of the guest's email address). The reservation confirmation and a reminder email will be sent to the email address provided. After review for accuracy by the Travel Arranger, the Department should forward the reservation confirmation to the traveler. The Travel Arranger will also receive a copy of the bill 72 hours after guest checkout.

University of Maryland Corporate/Promotional Codes

Enter U36 as the Corporate/Promotional Code to check University rates and availability. There may be time periods when the University of Maryland discount rate is not available, and another rate type may be selected.

Room Type and Guarantee

When selecting room type, Travel Arrangers should note that Cozy Rooms are located in the original Inn and Conference Center building. Executive Rooms are located in the hotel building.

Departmental Travel Arrangers should use the Travel Card to hold the reservation, taking note of cancellation penalties.

Payment and Maryland Tax Exempt Status

If the guest will be carrying his/her own Travel Card, the guest should ensure that the Front Desk is aware of the University's tax exempt status. Guests should verify their bill to ensure that Maryland State Tax was not included in the total.

For University-sponsored visitors whose lodging will be paid for with the Departmental Travel Arranger's Travel Card, the Travel Arranger must complete the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center Credit Card Authorization Form and fax it to 301.985.7517 before the day of arrival. The Trip Number from the approved TAR should be indicated on the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center Credit Card Authorization Form. Providing the Departmental Travel Card information on this form in advance will ensure that Maryland State tax is waived. The Credit Card Authorization Form is also used to indicate which charges should be placed on the Travel Card and which should not. For reservations made on the day of arrival, contact the Front Desk at 301.985.7300 to ensure the form has been processed prior to guest arrival.
